NYT's Flashback Quiz

My new favorite online quiz is the New York Time's weekly history quiz—Flashback. One at a time, it presents 8 events in history that you then need to place in chronological order. What I love about it is that it focuses the player on the sequence of historical events, which is much more important that specific dates.

Even better, it often includes events in non-Western history implicitly emphasizing that significant events occurred elsewhere in the world.

I expect to find a way to use this approach in some activity with my social studies students.
